Sata Hdd Optiplex

I want to install PATA hard drive on the machine that had previously SATA HDD. Please help?
I have Dell Optiplex GX520 which has a problem with the SATA hard drive. ince i can find the SATA hard drive I thought to replace the ATA (IDE) hard drive and unfortunately my computer can not dectect my IDE drive and it also lost the CD-ROM drive. Please what do I do that I have this completely out SATA in my PC and replace the / IDE ATA Hard Disk Drive.
Simply use the IDE connectors on the motherboard … the same as those used for drive CD. Any PC that supports an ordinary CD or DVD player will support a PATA drive. PATA is just a renaming of the old interface of ATA. (Http: / / en.wikipedia.org / wiki / Parallel_ATA ) I do not know what you mean by "also lost the CD-ROM drive." Perhaps the problem on your device with the motherboard and not with readers. Have you checked that all BIOS settings are correct? When these problems start? Did you or someone else just prior to any change settings BIOS, or perhaps inadvertently damaged the motherboard when trying to add SATA / remove any hardware? If this is not everything you need to do is disable in the BIOS and make sure the IDE controllers and channels are all activated. regards, Philip T
