I just connect my laptop HDD 2.5 IDE to USB enclosure and plug and play it works.

i just connect my laptop 2.5 HDD IDE to USB enclosure, plug and play. when I took it out and plugged again, it no longer works. I checked the manager device, it showed no driver is installed (code 10). someone could help me solve the problem, many thank you

Hi, I have seen this before. First restart your PC and connect it again, but plug it into a different USB port. This should walk. If not then you have one of three problems. 1) May your laptop have a USB version 1 slots so it can not recognize a USB version 2 device. 2) Some USB devices "die" after being plugged in. hard drives can be frail and need be connected and left connected for 24-48 hours to "burn". During the first 24-48 hours, they may fail, and as such, they will not be recognized by your PC. 3) the device you use is so new that your Windows operating system does not have the right drivers to run it. You need to download new drivers from manufacturer USB hard drive and install them. disconnect the device, restart your PC, plug and should recognize the device. Code 10 is an error indicating a problem with the driver. So I guess you just need to install new drivers for the USB device. Hope this helps.
