Hard Drive Options

If you take the disk drive (HDD) on your laptop and you want to retrieve some data from it or reformat it and use it in Caddy USB disk as backup but it does not fit what options do you have?

There are normally two reasons why a standard IDE / ATA hard disk is not formatted or connect to a standard USB disk enclosure designed to take these drives:

1. The hard disk is a version 12mm thick and not the regular size 9.5mm thick. Some older drives were manufactured just a little "fat" than normal and thus the drive will not be adjusted in case the hard drive. Because you can not have the hard drive noise around the inside housing, they are specially built to work only with 9.5mm HDD's. If you got one of the oldest / thickest 12mm versions then your only option is to use a cable kit as you VE225 products ..

   They are beautiful and recover data from hard disk and they allow you use the hard disk to store data, etc., but because they do not provide a protective case and treated in the drive, they are not ideal for use during

2. The hard drive has been fitted with a sheath "by the manufacturer of the laptop. This sheath fits over the standard IDE / ATA Interface Pin must be removed before the hard drive can be used with any disk USB Enclosure. Kidnapping is usually fairly simple and takes a few seconds.

   As far as we are aware of the "gains" made the end of the drive by some laptop manufacturers are used solely for the Assembly of laptops a little easier. Once removed the usual IDE interface is visible and you'll be able to use the hard drive into any standard 2.5 "Laptop Hard Drive Case
